Recent independent research in Canada proves the advantages of the Hynder Matras
Recent research, carried out by the Equine Research Center of the University of Guelph (Canada) shows the effectiveness of Hynder Matras in horseboxes is even better than was assumed initially.
The table below shows the results of this research. These show that a horsebox with Hynder Matras uses 80% less sawdust. The amount of particles found in the air during mucking out was also significantly lower. This research also confirmed that time spent on mucking out the box with Hynder Matras was reduced by half.

- Hynder Matras is placed on top of existing box flooring. This relatively small investment will save you time, labour and money.
- Hynder Matras replaces the sawdust used for the horse’s comfort. With Hynder Matras sawdust is only used to absorb fluids.
- Less sawdust means less dust, resulting in better air quality in the box.
- Less sawdust means the cleaning out of boxes can be done quicker.
- Less sawdust saves money.
- Resilient flooring / shock absorption
The table below illustrates how the resilience of the Hynder Matras is superior compared to other stall floorings.
.

The Cleg Hammer is an ASTM –instrument (American Society for Testing and Materials) that can be used to determine the shock absorbing qualities of a certain surface. This machine does in fact test the hardness of the flooring. The lower the value, the better the shock is being absorbed
